WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

One of the most fun parts of Fantasy Faire is the people-watching.  Yesterday I walked past a dragon. Later I saw a satyr, a demon, and something else I couldn't identify dancing together around a fire. Let the wild rumpus begin!

SHOWING MY AGE

I've always loved to mash-up outfits with bits of this and that and mix old and new. I wore pointy ears and wings before it was the "thing" and I'm still wearing them after it was the "thing". This outfit contains rigged mesh, unrigged mesh, sculpted prims, system clothing and flexi-prims. The top half of my body is my system shape, the bottom half is a mesh body, because my kewl new pants are appliers-only. I wish Second Life had more appreciation for longevity; just because something is getting older doesn't mean it isn't still beautiful, like this scarf, which I bought in 2009. Hmm? The other day I picked up this little dress at a new-to-me store called The Sinners Collective Crossroads. It balances the season-appropriate darker colors with some flowers to remind me that spring will come back. Eventually. I wore it layered over a black turtleneck because its so bloody cold. :D



At Shoetopia G Field had these flowered deck shoes sitting out as a gift! More serendipity. But I have to say my legs are still too cold! And in real life here I sit in my coat shivering. Maybe some soup ...

THE DARK KAWAII

The Love Donna Flora event is still running through August 11, yes do go, but unless it's too obvious to say, why not also pop in at the Donna Flora shop and see what else is available? For example, somehow in the past I have never noticed this "Opera" Jewels set. How can that be possible? Its dark deliciousness is perfect for Goth Girls and Boys, or for upcoming Halloween revelries. Many of her Jewels are also transferable for gift-giving.



This cute little dress was just kismet. Texture-change HUD also to five bright Jewel Tones. I like the contrast between the cutesy cut of the dress and the dark skullyness. Mwah!

REBEL REBEL

The Vintage Fair isn't only serving up fashions from your great-grandparents' era. I thought I'd like to show you something more recent. Many of the designers are focusing on the 1970s and 1980s.

This outfit is a bit hybrid. The Ziggy cosmetics by BlackLiquid are a obvious reference to David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" rockstar persona in the 1970s. You can wear the eye and face makeup without the glossy lipstick if you would prefer.



The rest is pretty clearly 80s hair band rocker :P  ... So I trotted out my guitar. Kumaki isn't just making eyewear anymore. And I rooted around in my closet for the biggest, wildest wig I have.



I bought these fab Pixel Mode boots a while ago, but I had a tough time finding something shiny enough to wear them with. Izzie's glam metallic leggings are rockstars!
