ONE BLOODY TEAR

Forgive the drama, but if I'm going to get gothic, I might as well turn the dial all the way to "over the top". I started with the monochrome version of this gown from Blue Blood, but wasn't satisfied until I added some Blood Red. (I added a red layer from another outfit.)

Going in that direction, I went shopping at Ploom for this hair with its wide swath of red bangs. It comes with a texture change HUD so you can tint the bangs a whole rainbow of lovely colors. The skin is from Matrioska, Blue Blood's new skin line. Her dolly skins are especially designed to complement her clothing line. This particular skin package also includes a skin with red lips, but I wanted you to focus on my eyes. (The Tear is a tattoo, not part of the skin.)

And these boots. Ms. Ennui's latest are Mesh, in a whole range of colors, from dark to bright to pastels. Yummy! I chose the pose and angle in this photograph to show you how the mesh curves perfectly around my ankle even when it is both bent and twisted. The line of buttons stays smooth, and the ankle does not fold or deform. Beautifully done.

I HAVE A QUESTION

Yesterday I was trying on older fashions that I still love. Sometimes I do this when I am cleaning out my closet; I eventually dispose old things whose style or construction is too dated.

And then there are the exceptions. For example, these pants. I so love these pants. I don't think I could ever throw them away ... But along comes mesh. And after seeing this picture of Achariya in Rebel Hope's new gown (in red!!) I am loving how the skirt has sculpted drapery that can fold with the avatar as she sits in her chair. It got me thinking.

So here is my question ... What older pieces of clothing would you like to see reworked in mesh to extend their life ? (In real life, I have had shoes repaired, and there was that fave skirt that I had a new waistband put on at the tailor's.) For me, I vote for the Trap Hakama pants. I would love for each leg to be one continuous piece, instead of breaking at the knee. Please please please pretty please? *begs Selos Dae shamelessly*

MASTER OF UNDERDARK

The raving crowd pushes me through the doors of the church but I am relieved and grateful that I might find help ... I should have known better. Staring at the strange idol I begin to feel peculiar. My stomach clenches and I feel cold and sweaty.

I don't know how much time has passed. I don't remember feeling sick but just waking on the rough floor. I still feel ... outside of myself. Someone is whispering?

BACCHANALIA

The Black Bacchanal fair is visiting Silentsparrow, use the mushrooms to teleport from the store up to the Rookery. Several fabulous designers are offering pretties at fabulous prices, there are even a couple of Gacha machines for you gacha addicts! If you miss it you will kick yourself. Trust me. I paired Silentsparrow’s sweater with the skirt part of a dress from the Blue Blood Gacha. They didn’t quite match so I tinted the skirt, easy peasy.

p.s. If you haven’t been there yet, Vive9 is giving away fatpacks of vintage skins and a few clothes at their main store on the Vive Sim. You should go see. I have shown these Aoki skins before, but I also have a soft spot for them. And the Belle skins too.

BURNT ORANGE BECKONS

I heard that Blue Blood had special orange Halloween outfits at Kali Isle ... when I got there I was surprised to see that there were other special seasonal stuffs set out by several other creators. ... I love this outfit with this feathered Hat/Hair from Gritty Kitty. What makes the Hat so flexible is that the hat, band and feathers are all texture change on touch so you can customize it to go with just about anything.

Now the boots ... ah the boots. mmm ... Soft leather, you don't need to be a rich equestrienne to appreciate them, but it doesn't hurt. There is another set with a contrasting cuff in a slightly orangey brown leather. The pair I am wearing only has this orangey leather inside, but you can see it a little if you like to wear your boots loosely like I do. Each boot is only one piece, so it doesn't have that odd look when your ankle bends in some poses. It uses invisiprims to hide your feet, but not your calves. Do yourself a favor and go try on a pair in the store.

I don't normally go for orange lipstick, but doesn't October suspend all the normal fashion rules? :)

TWISTED HUNT FALL 2009

Applause to the organizers and creators who participated in the Twisted Hunt for again putting together a fabulous and well organized experience! *standing ovation* \O/

My first selection to show you is the gift from Blue Blood. It includes both a male and a female outfit in gorgeous goth. I am inspired by Monty Python to describe these garments as black, black, black, black, black, bloody, and black.

Are you sensing a theme in the pictures I chose, Hmm? This gown was provided by Goth1cO.

And I love the Headless AO from Creative Insanity. The Pose is a long animation rather than just a static pose, a must have. Now my problem is, shall I wear the Creative Insanity Witch AO for Halloween? Or this new Headless AO? *bites nails*

Now I took lots of pictures of my favorite Twisted Hunt stuffs and put them up on My Flickr if you would like to see them.
