CLOCKWORK LOVE

If you haven't gone yet, the Clockwork Spiral fundraiser is running through October 1st, so you still have a few more days to combine you love of charitable giving with your passion for everything steam/diesel/goth/punk/Victorian or whatever combination of those bits gets you all tingly. I love fusions and creative anachronism, so this kind of thing makes me happy. I also love that it benefits the National Kidney Foundation. Win-win!



Sometimes I get frustrated with my self-imposed guideline: I try not to use more than three pictures in a post to keep it short and sweet. Sometimes that means jettisoning the medium sized views or portraiture, so I can show details like these coggity eyes. Didn't you didn't realize I am one of the automata?



And I have to say, these boots look tough enough to survive whatever comes next, whether its a dirigible disaster or the rising of the undead next month. (October is coming, after all.) Are you ready?

Time is just flying by and we only have through tomorrow to visit Fashion for Life! I can't believe it. If you haven't visited yet, now's your chance. This sweet little floral print is also available in brighter, more summery colors but I was just loving this fresh white.



I like silver and white so I matched the dress with a silver star manicure from Flair and this Fleur-de-Lis ring from Swallow ...

THE GRAPHIC EQUALIZER

When I was a kid my stepmother had a good stereo system with a Graphic Equalizer that had a whole grid of green lights on the front. Just a random memory that popped up when I tried on this dress! Of course it also includes a HUD to change the color, like a lot of LIV-Glam staples. This one feels so modern that I added a new haircut from Taketomi. I think it's intended for boys, but who cares?

AN EARLY SNOWFALL

I've been caught out in thin clothing by early snow. I guess I'll have to go shop for sweaters and jackets! Well today I am wearing an outfit of a type that I am hoping gets some traction in the stores. It's a hybrid, made of an old-school system shirt with separate sleeves, and a some nice mesh slacks. I like the system shirt because I could add a coat over it and leave off the puff sleeves. The only thing that needs improvement in my opinion is that instead of sculpted sleeves, it should come with mesh sleeves and collars. Unfortunately the makers of mesh have not been making much in the way of separate attachments. That would be such an improvement.

A CLEAR DAY IN NEW ENGLAND

So I had some lovely garments in fall colors tucked away for after the Halloween orange-and-black fest. The TokiDoki oversized sweater has a nice soft knit and I love NuDoLu's owl jewelry gacha. Underneath I have some comfy new chocolate corduroys I picked up at Boom.



I ran across Mr. Boss at the Fishing Dock and he helped me with some of the finer points of drowning worms. He actually looks a lot like Mr. Friedman, who I worked for when I was nineteen years old. I'm glad he's having a nice retirement.



Noble New England is abundant in Fall charm, pumpkins, places to eat and drink, a playground, comfy places to sit and relax, I even spotted a horse riding ring ... I had a lovely time. Don't miss!

FOR SOPHIE

We all know what it feels like to feel out of place, but rarely does anyone lose their life for not fitting the common mold. After Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were killed simply for looking different, her mother founded the Sophie Lancaster Foundation to educate people not to practice hatred or intolerance of people who like to dress outside the mainstream. World Goth Fair in Second Life raises funds for this charity. If you like anything gothy, alternative, or are a fan of black and red, this fair is a Win-Win-Win!



Each shop at the Fair has at least one charity benefit item. I am wearing this dark confection from Evie's Closet, and Lassitude and Ennui's delicious bony jewels. It also made me smile that many of the vendors are also giving out little gifts for those of us who have a limited wallet; for instance these cute shoes at The Little Bat, and a nice dramatic eye shadow by Beautiful Freak. Evie Miles also put back out an old gift, the lovely black and red Halloween Fable gown, for those of you who haven't seen it already.

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

I'm showing a few more cutie-pie stuffs from the Zombie Popcorn Winter Magic event. The holiday shopping is fun, the build is sweet with plenty of nice photo spots, and when I'm done taking photos here I think I'll need some hot chocolate. I am turning blue with the cold but at least my tongue is the right color.

This cute outfit from Severed Garden includes the fun sweater, a little sculpted miniskirt, leggings, fringed boots, and a headband with a pair of huge pompoms on it. I traded the headband for these snowy antlers, and reduced the skirt into a little sweater bottom. My legs kept sticking through the skirt, so I wanted to wear shorts.
