I'm just loving these hot new jackets. There are a couple of versions, each one comes with a HUD that changes the jacket to three different textures. For example, this one also changes to red and baby blue. They don't look exactly like leather, but more like a metallic, shiny futuristic synthetic. The black texture is especially shiny.



And I guess this is the futuristic world we are building to go with it. I'd type an ironic smiley, but I don't think so much asphalt is particularly funny.

PARADE READY!

Does anyone out there know the difference between a Sousaphone and a Tuba? Sorry, but I was every other kind of geek, but not a band geek. In any event, I am ready for the Independence Day parade on Thursday. Fortunately my instrument is scripted to play by itself, since I never had any lessons. When I spotted the skateboard I thought it must be better than walking in the 104 degree heat predicted for July Fourth. Sweet!



I put together some red and blue out of pieces just released by LIV-Glam. I love that many of their inexpensive mesh garments come with texture change HUDs that let you pick from tons of colors. I immediately liked this jacket that drapes over your shoulders as if placed there by a considerate male companion. The pants have a lovely parade stripe made of metal studs.



For fun I added the big collar from Coco's Bow shirt. I wanted to mention that she will soon be retiring many of her older sculpted pieces, and some real classic favorites that still wear very well are on sale for L$50 to 100. An opportunity you shouldn't miss!

THE IMPISH ONE

The "Impish" dress is another pretty thing from this month's Deco-themed edition at the Genre venue. You may need to tinker with your shape to get this dress to fit properly, so I recommend trying a demo. (I think there was a demo? I don't remember.) In some poses my shoulders went through the straps. I love the lace and detail; in these photos I am using very bright lighting to make the texture more visible.

DRAGON LADY

Today I had fun photographing a few beautiful new pieces from Finesmith and NV Corsetry! Finesmith has been putting out new jewels for us and I am wearing an avant-garde spiked hairpiece and lovely onyx beads. All resizable, and you can turn the full bright or glow on and off as you need for the occasion. I paired them with NV's Hatsuboku Corset in this subtle black and white print. But it is too hard to pick just one of these corsets, there are so many sumptuous fabrics and prints from which to choose.

Another keeper! LIV-Glam has released three different versions of this new Shanti mini dress: three funky prints, each with a HUD that lets you pick from six different colors. I wanted to do a monotone night time look so I picked the grey print, but it also comes in teal, purple, green, red ... you get the idea.

A MONOCHROME SPRING

The outfit is rather minimalist but, honestly, I was more interested in the hat. And the makeup. They were so beautiful that I wanted to simplify everything else.

I decided to leave all the color on the skin instead. I layered over a flowered eye makeup which explains what is attracting all these butterflies!

IN A BETTER MOOD

Even Catwoman is occasionally in a better mood, for example at Christmas. Grouchy and cynical most of the year, she over-compensates a little in December. (Okay, a lot.) Today she is ready to install a truly gargantuan outdoor lights display. It is so large, she must use a Grappling Hook to hang the decorations.



That's no problem because she recently purchased Deco's fully functional Grappling Hook and the accompanying heavy duty gloves, suitable for both climbing and rappelling.



LOL this post began as me trying to figure out what to wear with Mina's cat mask and hair, which is one of the fundraising items at the Together for Sway benefit. The accompanying texture-change HUD changes the Mask to five colors, and the hair to a half dozen candied colors. If you prefer normal haircolors, they are available but not also as part of the fundraiser.

HUNTING AT TWILIGHT

The sun is on its way down, and I'm getting ready to go hunting. No, not hunting for prey, silly. Today I'd rather go hunting for clothes. And shoes.

I already found these. I love how the little silver studs on the shoes go with the subtle sequin shine on these slacks. But I love most how cute my little toes look with these little straps.

I think the black stretch outfit would be perfect for a hunter looking to blend with the dark. And also fashionable, dressed up with a few smart accessories. Sometimes I like to keep it simple.

THE MAD HUNTER

I went on the Steam Hunt the other day and I'm still unpacking the prizes, but I thought I would show you one of my favorites so far. The hunt is on the theme of "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" and Cedar Bay Furnishings has thoughtlfully provided us with a replica of Captain Nemo's Pipe Organ. It is said that Captain Nemo's face sometimes appears in the mirror if you sit and play Bach.

I am wearing a mask and devilish backpack from a gruesome new shop called Contraption. The shop specializes in disturbing and macabre accessories and a bit of clothing too. They have several lucky chairs so you can try out some of their styles.

Sturdy but dashing two-tone boots from Lassitude and Ennui, suitable for a long hike across parallel dimensions ...

And, some macabre jewels I picked up at this month's Flux event. This month their theme is taxidermy *eww* (You can see the details better if you click on the photos and look at the larger versions).

ONE BLOODY TEAR

Forgive the drama, but if I'm going to get gothic, I might as well turn the dial all the way to "over the top". I started with the monochrome version of this gown from Blue Blood, but wasn't satisfied until I added some Blood Red. (I added a red layer from another outfit.)

Going in that direction, I went shopping at Ploom for this hair with its wide swath of red bangs. It comes with a texture change HUD so you can tint the bangs a whole rainbow of lovely colors. The skin is from Matrioska, Blue Blood's new skin line. Her dolly skins are especially designed to complement her clothing line. This particular skin package also includes a skin with red lips, but I wanted you to focus on my eyes. (The Tear is a tattoo, not part of the skin.)

And these boots. Ms. Ennui's latest are Mesh, in a whole range of colors, from dark to bright to pastels. Yummy! I chose the pose and angle in this photograph to show you how the mesh curves perfectly around my ankle even when it is both bent and twisted. The line of buttons stays smooth, and the ankle does not fold or deform. Beautifully done.
