SIMPLICITY

Today I'm all cuddled up in minty goodness trying to warm up in advance of real spring. But really I'll admit that this outfit is all about this shirt. How do I love it? Let me count the ways. I love the way the unfolded cuffs come down over the backs of my hands, and how the collar is not exactly symmetrical. I love how the seamstress took the time with all the little details. I love how there is a strip of seam binding going around the inside of the collar where most people would hardly even notice it. I love the way that the folds lie around my waist and lower back, and the way the fabric pinches up at the shoulders. And all that is wrapped in a simple sweet minty print! *applause*



I added some spring pink details cause, well ... just because. And I have all this pink in my cheeks because I have been digging in my imaginary garden, getting soil ready for flowers. Of course my imaginary garden does not rudely put dirt all over my new pants. :P Now where did I put my gloves and spade?

CABOCHON BRUNETTE

It starts with a worn and dark fluttery bird texture on my silentsparrow suit. This color of the Corbie Suit was a limited edition but there are several other colors available. I layered in Mr. Poet's shirt because I adore the ruffled collar and pinned the cabochon brooch on my lapel.

I'm not really much for long tails so I exhaled and buttoned on my corset.

Yes these Lassitude and Ennui boots again. They are modifiable, so I was playing around with tint. I love them in two-tone, don't you?

.. And I really wanted to show you the elaborate braiding on this delicious coif. BooN has a growing collection of hair that is intended for wear over a hairbase. I also wanted to mention that they have three sets of hairbases which I love because the hair is pulled back three ways to the crown of the head, the back, and down to the nape of the neck. I wore two hairbases together to get a look that I like.

Come and meet the dark ...

This amazing gown is the "tiny" version, which was smaller and shows less cleavage than the full-sized version, so it is more appropriate for tiny or child avatars. For those of you on a tight budget, Ms. Miles has stocked a lucky chair with a version that has the adult decotellage and the shortest tutu-length skirt.

And then there is the ring. ... Wow. If you look carefully, the little rows of silver beads around the stone are actually tiny tiny skulls. And there is a bit of swirling light inside the diamond. Wouldn't a blood diamond be romantic for a vampire?

JUST COULDN'T STAY INSIDE TODAY

Where I live there are two or three weeks that hang suspended in between summer and fall. Thankfully cooler than August, summer's blooms going to seed, the green leaves subtle golding. On a day like this I couldn't stay inside, so I sneaked away from the house to walk in the grass and trees.

This classically vintage gown from A La Folie is trimmed with translucent embroidered laces at the bodice and the layers of the skirt; it can be dressed up by adding a frothy jeweled shoulder piece, or dressed down by wearing a knee length pencil skirt with a bow at the waist and a matching hair band. The outfit also includes matching Necklace, Earrings, a Bracelet, and a flower to hold in your hand.

I wanted to dress down the gown a little so I removed the shoulder frills. When I saw this loose and soft hair style I knew it would be perfect with this gown. I love how it relaxes the style and makes it less formal.

FASHION NO-NOs: a Blogger Challenge

Fashion No-No: HORIZONTAL STRIPES! What was I thinking? Can I really pull it off? Will fashion bloggers everywhere do a spit take and get me permabanned for all their ruined laptops?

I double dog dare you all to choose what you consider the most binding fashion rules ... and break them all, but make it look steaming hot! I chose horizontal stripes, but you might combine plaid and paisley, wear bling, or patent leather shoes made of non-sculpted prims. Go crazy!

A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

Well, in shoe heaven. After resisting for months, I finally gave in at Shoe Fair and bought these yummy shoes. I had to have them. They were the perfect soul mate for this jacket. I don't care if you have seen this jacket on my blog before. :) It's my favorite! I moaned a little when I tried on these heels, partly from pleasure, partly hoping it wouldn't be too difficult to adjust the color of the sculpted toes to match my skin. But what was I worried about? Even with this gray tint, easy peasy lemon squeezy.

And this skin ... This lovely skin is part of a multipack available now in the Platinum Hunt for a mere L$10. The other skins have a few combinations of different eye and lip color. The package also includes matching ears. If you love fantasy, this is a Must Have. An ee-vill dark elf never looked so adorable.

Finally, the Necklace (and matching earrings) are available at AI's Le.Look location. Putting it on I was amazed by the details; the strands are held together by two beads shaped like tiny hands.

THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT 3/4

Tiny Bird Autumn Leaves Hair (Licorice and Orange)! The mask changes texture on touch to several colors and you may also tint it. A MACABRE TALE

Stepping out of your book of fairy tales are the Billy Goats Gruff.

Once upon a time there were three billy goats, who were to go up to the hillside to make themselves fat, and the name of all three was "Gruff." On the way up was a bridge over a cascading stream they had to cross; and under the bridge lived a great ugly troll, with eyes as big as saucers, and a nose as long as a poker.

So first of all came the youngest Billy Goat Gruff to cross the bridge. "Trip, trap! trip, trap!" went the bridge. "Who's that tripping over my bridge?" roared the troll. "Oh, it is only I, the tiniest Billy Goat Gruff, and I'm going up to the hillside to make myself fat," said the billy goat, with such a small voice. "Now, I'm coming to gobble you up," said the troll. "Oh, no! pray don't take me. I'm too little, that I am," said the billy goat. "Wait a bit till the second Billy Goat Gruff comes. He's much bigger." "Well, be off with you," said the troll.

A little while after came the second Billy Goat Gruff to cross the bridge. "TRIP, TRAP! TRIP, TRAP! TRIP, TRAP!" went the bridge. "Who's that tripping over my bridge?" roared the troll. “Well, come along! I've got two spears,
And I'll poke your eyeballs out at your ears;
I've got besides two curling-stones,
And I'll crush you to bits, body and bones.”

That was what the big billy goat said. And then he flew at the troll, and poked his eyes out with his horns, and crushed him to bits, body and bones, and tossed him out into the cascade, and after that he went up to the hillside. There the billy goats got so fat they were scarcely able to walk home again. And if the fat hasn't fallen off them, why, they're still fat; and so,

Snip, snap, snout.
