COOL AT DUSK

Last evening I was playing in my closet and thinking not-so-profound thoughts, about upcoming holiday mayhem, the kidster, how inconvenient it is to be sick in December, yada yada, whilst making an outfit and messing with lighting and poses. Thinking that I miss Gala Phoenix and her fall and winter releases, so I pulled out last year's Christmas skin to remind myself and you. Thinking about the amazing generosity of (most) people in Second Life.

And the talent. Don't forget the talent. I have long since ditched all my other online foolishness, but I still keep coming back to Second life, to buy pixel shoes. And hamsters. I have a lot of hamsters.

CHRISTIE

I am almost at the end of my Vintage Fair coverage which is a little sad. I really enjoy this and many other themed events so much that I hate to see them end. I've so much enjoyed seeing what the rest of the fashion community has done with these pieces! ... So here's one more. I picked out Cold Logic's mini with its classic line, I love the shape and the color combination. I dressed them up with some Maitreya Leggings and some cute, flirty little flowered wedges that Lassitude and Ennui just released.

I wore the mesh leggings in a very small size so they would fit under the top. The color isn't a perfect match, but close enough. Ms. Ennui's shoes are of course marvelous, and yes, you can tint the skin and paint the toenails several colors. She set them out at L'Accesoires for a couple more weeks, and afterward will move back to the L&E store.

QUICKSILVER

One of my favorites from Hair Fair is this new shop called Gotzsche. The "Elizabeth" hair is draped in lovely almost Art Nouveau waves, but the style is very understated. I love a pleasant surprise, and I am looking forward to seeing what else they offer.

And this very simple outfit is made stellar by some rock-star cosmetics sold as a charity benefit item by Kooqla. These eyeshadows are being sold as a pack over at the Hope for Emilia Event that is raising funds to help after the Earthquake in Italy. The pack comes in several shades that you can see here in the vendor photo. If your wallet is very empty you can purchase the green "Nefrit" shadow for just L$1.

... And I think Apple May is giving us a very feminine piece in this mesh skirt. I don't usually think that hard geometrics emphasize my form, but I'm happy to be shown when I'm wrong!

SUMMERTIME

Summertime
Summertime

Sum-sum-summertime ... ooOOoo!

I'm loving the Berries "Headfreezer" Animation Override. For a long time I've mostly avoided very long hairstyles because many mocap poses and dances put my hair into my shoulders and clothes. The headfreezer fixes that! Thank you.

ANOTHER YOUNG BLONDE ZOMBIE

He was just a little apprehensive about meeting me in the cemetery, but that was easily overcome by testosterone.

He was surprisingly slow on the uptake. But most humans don't believe in things like me.

!

Vest: Young Urban “Test Match Vest” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Pants: Boingo “Mens Gladiator Leggings” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Boots: Ducknipple “Smug Black” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Belt: Berries “Belt Airtime Black” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Bracelets: Blitzed “Spiked Bracelets” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Hair: Exile “Sadie Blonde Frost” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Skin: Plastik “Zombie Femme Stage Two” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Eyes: Plastik “Brains Collection Gasoline” (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Eyelashes: Glow Studio “Innocent Eyelashes Pure” (okay I need to adjust them better)
Poses: Poses for Posers (Zombie Popcorn Hunt gift)
Location: Wretched Hollow Cemetery

I don’t go on very many hunts these days, but what intrigued me about the Zombie Popcorn Hunt was the over the top grossness of its name. Try not to get a mental picture. Let’s just move on ... What impressed me about this hunt was more than the usual number of skins. I showed the Plastik skin, but there were several other nice ones, notably another very nice zombie-themed skin by Mabee, and a scarlet-lipped human skin from Glam Affair. The Plastik package also includes a male zombie skin so the Guys don't have to feel left out. The hunt has a hint page if you are having a hard time finding some of the more difficult ones.
