JOINING THE DREAM ARMY

The Captain's Coat isn't a very practical item of dress but that's probably why I like it so much. Most officers don't have ten spare minutes every morning to dedicate to lacing up. :D  ... I hope you don't mind that I tinted the inner shirt a Plum color, it used to be gray with royal blue piping. Still available a little longer over at the Victorian edition of Genre.

And these lovely suede boots! They come either plain or with the fabulous metallic tooling on the cuffs. Perfect for space pirates, or high elves in middle-earth. You'll be seeing me in these again I promise.

LOLITA

Lolita Medium

This month's installment at the Genre venue is "Lolita" themed and I am loving it, so I am bringing you a sample: this outfit by Senzafine and hair Curio Obscura is black and blacker. But most of the Loli-inspired outfits are also available in lighter and happier colors. The theme is called "Cotton Candy Dreams" if that gives you an idea of the color scheme.

Lolita Closeup

The Curio Obscura hair is texture change to a buncha colors and comes in this version, and another with hairbows. I am loving the ringlets but if you prefer thicker curls, another version of this wig is available at Hair Fair. One of my favorite booths this year at Hair Fair!!

Lolita Full

The dress is mesh with a HUD that changes to textures to two shades of black. I like the lighter version, cause it's easier to see all the lace and frills.

THE IMPISH ONE

Impish Medium

The "Impish" dress is another pretty thing from this month's Deco-themed edition at the Genre venue. You may need to tinker with your shape to get this dress to fit properly, so I recommend trying a demo. (I think there was a demo? I don't remember.) In some poses my shoulders went through the straps. I love the lace and detail; in these photos I am using very bright lighting to make the texture more visible.

Impish Close

Bliensen and Maitai's earrings are perfectly period. Lovely little pieces, all the bits in mesh. You can click on the photo to see a larger version with all the details.

QUIRKSOME

Quirksome Closeup

Are you afraid of my hat? Are the Animal Print lapels just too much? Have you seen shoulders this large since the nineteen-eighties? Were you even alive in the nineteen-eighties?

Quirksome Medium

Do you mistrust people who wear black lipstick? Do you despise mismatching primary colors? Do you hate retro and vintage hodgepodge?

THE IT GIRL

It Girl Medium

When the "Genre" Venue opened, I was glad that there would finally be a place to go see a variety of fantasy, sci-fi and film genre categories, and the current incarnation is a joyful collection of Deco period-inspired pieces. Loving it! So here is a sweet little gown by Senzafine. The twenties girls wore long, body-skimming, slimming sheaths, sure to frustrate the girls with curves like me :D but you can go on a slider diet and slip into one of these hot little numbers.

It Girl Closeup

I selected one of Curio's Vintage skins for its sassy bow lips, and added a glam new eye shadow by Kooqla from the Cosmetic Fair. This cosmetic also comes in a bouquet of summer colors. The liquid metallic look is en vogue.

FANTASIA

I'm really excited today 'cause I visited this new event called "Genre" which will feature each month a different genre of shopping, and this month's premiere edition is on the Fantasy genre! I love costume, whether it is Fantasy, Science Fiction, Steampunk, Kawaii-Cutie, I love them all!

I picked up this lovely Analog Dog hair over at Genre. It's nice to see this classic brand making mesh. What's unusual is that the main hair is rigged mesh, but it also includes an optional flexi attachment for any of you who miss having hair that moves a little when you do.

And I wanted to test drive a set of these eyes from Dead Apples. I suppose they work best as fantasy eyes. At first glance I thought they looked like Undead eyes, but on a second look I decided they were too clean-looking for that. I think they look stunning with this luminous skin from Belleza, a beauty from last Fifty Linden Friday. :D

Dress: Wertina "Ancient Dress" (@the Outlet Sales Room)
Wings: Fancy Fairy "Lilt Scripted Wings in Portobello" (chat commands no HUD)
