J'ADORE CARIBE

I seriously LOVE this skin! Let me count the ways ... I love love love the rich color. I love the down to earth human-ness of it. I love the shiny spots, bumps, freckles and texture ... the unplucked eyebrows. Come on, take a closer look. With all those grooming faux pas, still ... undeniably beautiful.

Today is February 1. In the United States we are celebrating Black History Month. My feelings about that are complicated ... as I have mentioned before, I grew up in the Caribbean. I remember my elementary school lessons about Crispus Attucks, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman &c. But like a LOT of people in the Caribbean, I am a mixture of white and brown and red. Should I take sides? Whose side could I or should I pick? For some people the choice is obvious. Whatever my family tree is, my skin looks white. ... But I don't want to choose. I love it all.

KREAMSICLE KITTY

I'm ready to go trick or treating !!

I just love these KatatOnik Kattypop purses from the Cioccolata Gatcha Festival and I had to make a trick or treat outfit from the orange one. I added some pieces to this Babydoll dress ... tights from one outfit and an undershirt to look young and sweet. The freckles help with that too don't they? The skin is an inexpensive holiday gacha from My Ugly Dorothy. And the hair is a fun staple because the colored side color-changes so you can match it with lots of outfits.

LOVE/HATE BARE ROSE

I tell you there are evil forces at work here. And her name is June Dion!

So the other day I went to Bare Rose to see if they had anything new I liked in the cyber or fantasy departments and look what I ended up taking home with me! Well as I sat at home staring at what came out of the shopping bag I thought, What the hell? All these ruffles? What happened to me? Did June install a brainwashing orb next to the raffle orb, or was I just seduced by the sculpty goodness? What am I going to do with this? I'm already married !! Can I throw the white satin in the washing machine with a package of black dye? ... Well I removed a few pieces that make me think the most of weddings ... the set comes with lingerie and thigh high stockings. I took off the elaborate headpieces and flowered bodice, and replaced the top with a simpler white wrap shirt to tone it down just a little.

And put on some cutie makeup. I considered making her the bride of dracula with glowy red eyes and dripping fangs, hmm. I'll have to try that one sometime.
