The boots can be colored in sections and you can turn the little rabbit ears off if you don't want them.

BUNDLING UP AT HOME

I just moved into this new home on a snowy hilltop and I. ADORE. IT. This new wood-and-stone beauty by Trompe Loeil is all beauty and practicality. These days you can find small properties with higher prim counts, so I love that my new home has three levels to take advantage of the vertical space, but still feels comfortably roomy.


I'm not close to finished decorating, but just starting to make myself at home with sweet treats and holiday decorations, a mix of old and new. Hmm. Now where did I put that big rug?

If you are as in love with outdoor living as I am in warmer weather, you may fall in love with this sweet little gazebo. I used to have a beautiful one that weighed in at fifty-eight prims, but this new one by Atelier Visconti comes in at a slim 16 prims instead, not including the furnishings of course. I love mesh!



The gazebo is over in the Garden section of the Liaison Collaborative with some matching furnishings and accessories, but I also wanted to set out a few of my favorite things. I do like the comfy sofas and the table though. One of my favorite things about Atelier Visconti sofas is that they almost always come with a HUD to let you change up the appearance of the upholstery. Hmm? ... let's see that.

THE END OF SUMMER

Summer is nearly over, and I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I am glad it's over because I've been struggling with loneliness and in a few days I'll be able to bury myself in projects and other busyness. As a closing parenthesis, this weekend really stank. I was blown off by some people I was trying to make friends of, and suddenly dropped from an activity that after some effort I was finally beginning to enjoy.



You might guess that I was feeling really unwelcome among humans when I came down to the Beach to hang around with these sea lions. They don't pressure me to talk, and I never feel like I have to paste on a phony smile.



Again, I have mixed feelings ... Summer is almost over, and as much as I adore Fall, I wish time would slow down a little. I feel like I'm missing too much as it goes flying by. I can't believe how big the Kid is getting, and somehow we didn't fit in as many trips to the community swimming pool as I thought we would. School starts on Wednesday.

FOODIE HEAVEN

SEASON'S FAREWELL

Job well done (again!) for the all the shops and organizers of the Seasons Hunt, which has been one of the few must-do hunts in Second Life. I loved so much discovering a few new shops, squealing while I opened the boxes ... and knowing beforehand that none of the prizes would be junk. *happy sigh*

Last week I had this year's first real cold snap, so I wanted to try putting together one of those mega-layered-supa-primmy outfits that some (other) bloggers do so well. I tried combining three tops but the prims didn't work, so I took off the Teefy shirt. I stretched the heck out of the scarf to fit it around my hair. And oh yes, a slider diet to keep my bum from sticking out of my clothes.

Dressing warmly can be a lot of work. But so worth it.

TRUE COLORS

I wanted to do another post inspired by the 1980s. Perhaps I should apologize in advance?

... nah, it could be worse. The hair is bleached blonde with colored streaks a la Cyndi Lauper, and pretty big on top, but not too big. Yes the jewel-toned collar is turned up, and the shoulder padding is quite large. My earrings dangle and my bangles jangle. Large brightly colored lips in honor of Kelly LeBrock. (If you never heard of her, she was the one with the pillowy lips when Angelina Jolie and Liv Tyler were in diapers.)

But I could be wearing an izod polo, a plaid shirt with gold threads in it, or an aerobics outfit with a headband, belt, stirrup leggings and striped knit legwarmers, a la Jane Fonda. I could have a giant spiral perm. Or ... hammerpants *shiver*

Even the deities of fashion know better than to recycle old fashion fads without alteration. They are modified and toned down to make them more palatable. Still, I cringed the other day when I saw the cork and hemp wedge heels at the shoe store. I can tolerate a lot of things in Second Life that I can't stand in real life.

GIMME SUGAR

Digging around my bloggitybloggage closet I ran across a neglected bag of things from the Albero Gacha Festival. (Yes, I should be more organized.) My favorite schtuffs were these sweets. The Ring Pop took me way back but I restrained myself from popping more and more coins in the vendor to get all the flavors. And who doesn't like fruity popsicles? You know you love them. All calories hand-removed by elves.

It isn't too late for you to go to the Gacha Festival for a bit of cheap fun. If any of you haven't tried one of these events before, these inexpensive little vending machines randomly choose an item for you. Almost all of these things are transferrable so you can give any duplicates to your friends, or maybe trade to get the items you want.

Each popsicle comes with a matching tattoo layer that colors your lips and tongue. *grins*
